Comcast Business Expands Fiber Network in West Hartford
WEST HARTFORD, CT – April 9, 2019 – Comcast Business today announced that it has completed a nearly $350,000 fiber optic network expansion project in West Hartford, Connecticut. Comcast’s high-performance network is now delivering up to 10 Gigabits-per-second (Gbps) of Ethernet capacity to businesses located between Farmington Avenue and South Main Street, Albany Avenue and North Main Street, and down New Park Avenue, giving companies in this area a competitive edge in delivering their products and services.
West Hartford is known for its bustling downtown shopping district and variety of businesses, restaurants and health care facilities. Comcast’s investment delivers high-performance, reliable Ethernet Dedicated Internet Service and advanced voice services along with Wi-Fi and video solutions to small- and medium-sized companies and large enterprises with the flexibility to scale services as business needs change. Comcast also recently rolled out 1 Gigabit-per-second (Gbps) Internet service using DOCSIS 3.1 technology to residential and business customers in the 86 communities it serves in Connecticut. including West Hartford, making Comcast’s "Business Internet 1 Gig" and "Business Internet 500" speed tiers available to business customers in the area.

The new expansion extends Comcast’s network to three business districts in West Hartford, including West Hartford Center between Farmington Avenue and South Main Street, Bishops Corner Neighborhood between Albany Avenue and North Main Street and the Home Design District down New Park Avenue. The new infrastructure and internet capacity can help drive greater economic growth and development in these areas.
