Check out The Bunker: Program for Military Veteran-Led Businesses

I love finding great resources to share with the military and veteran entrepreneurs who are working hard to start or run a business. Bunker Labs, or “The Bunker” is a program that was built by veteran entrepreneurs for veteran entrepreneurs. It provides working space, mentors, access to investors, pro-bono services and a community of support to help military veteran-led startup companies. The Bunker is now in twelve cities including Philadelphia, Chicago, Nashville and Washington, DC. For more information, visit their website.

Todd Connor, a U.S. Navy Veteran, is CEO of The Bunker as well as the Co-Founder of Flank 5 Academy. When asked about his inspiration for The Bunker, he shared that he knew there was more that could be done to support the estimated 50,000 service members who leave active duty each year and express interest in starting their own business. According to Connor, “I heard from many entrepreneurs who are looking for an organization like The Bunker that can help them in starting and growing a business. They have a natural skill set for starting a business and we wanted to give them the place to do it."

So, I encourage you to visit their site. If you are in one of their cities, you can submit an on-line application to become a “company in residence.” Check out the unique “Bunker in a Box” program – with hundreds of hours of thought leadership to help you create your business vision and plan.

If you’ll be in Chicago in May, look into attending their “Muster” on May 12. It’s an opportunity for veterans, corporate partners and innovators to come, bring their ideas, and develop new connections and insights. Last year’s inaugural event drew over 350 participants and won praise as “the most exciting, innovative veteran entrepreneur event I have ever been to.” Get more information here.
