Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let me get you up to speed on what happened at the last meeting. The OneLove finance and inventory teams continued to reconcile with sales, and the marketing team continued with their promotional efforts, which this week included the development of a social media calendar and the creation of a press release to introduce OneLove to a broad audience. Like the last time we met, students also worked on fulfillment, packaging and shipping their inventory of blankets. In fact, I’m proud to report that OneLove has SOLD OUT of its blue and gray #KeepPhillyWarm blankets, so the students made one last order of 100 blankets—this time in the color red.

We also provided the OneLove team with a session on college readiness, given by students from the MBA Prep program for Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), a non-profit organization that also offers Career Prep, a program for college undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds who are interested in business.

The group of young professionals, all of which live and work in Philadelphia, came in and answered questions on college readiness and navigating the transition from high school to college. They addressed everything from how to manage time to where to eat. They also talked to the students about what it means to have a career and what its like starting out. The panelists were extremely diverse and included a female engineer from Columbia, financial asset managers, and a former Junior Achievement graduate who discussed how her time in the program fed into her her college and career experience.
