It’s no secret that starting a business can be a roller coaster ride. For veterans, active military or even the spouse of someone in the military, entrepreneurship presents a distinct set of opportunities and challenges. Numerous programs abound to help our service men and women make the transition from military life to the business world. Following are a handful of national organizations that can help you make the leap.

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)
SBA empowers veterans, active duty service members, Guard and Reserve members and military spouses through entrepreneurial training and education programs, business technical assistance counseling, special access to capital programs and federal procurement training and access to opportunities.

Veteran and Military Business Owners Association (VAMBOA)
VAMBOA provides networking, collaboration, mentoring, education, certification and advocacy to veteran business owners, service disabled veteran owned businesses (SDVOB) and military business owners worldwide.

National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA)
NaVOBA creates opportunities and offers resources for America’s veteran-owned businesses.

Vets in Tech (ViT)
ViT brings together a tech-specific network, resources and programs for veterans interested in education, entrepreneurship and employment.

Comcast Department of Military and Veteran Affairs
Comcast is committed to hiring 10,000 veterans, National Guard, Reserve members and military spouses.

American Corporate Partners (ACP)
American Corporate Partners connects U.S. veterans with corporate leaders through a free, nationwide mentoring program and an online network for business advice.

Bunker Labs
Through local chapters organized in 12 different cities, Bunker Labs provides educational programming, mentors, events and thriving local networks to help military veterans start and grow businesses.

Military Connection
Military Connection provides access to thousands of military-veteran resources and information including jobs, schools, benefits, news and more.

These national organizations can help veterans make the leap to entrepreneurship.
