Set up Call Notify on your Business Voice Mobility line

Introduction

Call Notify allows you to send an email notification with the caller’s name and number when the call matches pre-defined criteria such as phone number, time of day or day of week. You can configure up to 12 phone numbers along with a specified time schedule for notifications.

Before you activate Call Notify, you can configure time and holiday schedules so the feature is only enabled when you need it.

Note: Access to this feature may require the purchase of a Business Voice Mobility line. For more information, contact a Business sales representative at 1-800-391-3000. Mobility lines are not available in all areas.

Access Call Notify settings

  1. Step 1:

    Sign in to My Account and select Manage Phone.

  2. Step 2:

    Select Advanced from the Call Features menu.

Manage Call Notify settings

  1. Step 1:

    In the Call Notify section, select Edit.

  2. Step 2:

    Enter the email address(es) at which you would like to receive notifications, then select Done.

  3. Step 3:

    Select Call notify rules, then select +Add a list.

  4. Step 4:

    Enter or select the following information:

    Description: Enter a rule description. For example, "Nights and Weekends" or "Calls from IT Department."

    Select Notify to activate the rule upon saving. Select Do not notify to deactivate the feature during the specified time or day.

    Selected Time Schedule: Choose the time of day you would like Call Notify to be active. Every Day All Day is selected by default. You can also customize your own time schedule.

    Selected Holiday Schedule (optional): If you would like to apply rules on specific days, you can customize a holiday schedule.

    Calls From: Choose Any phone number if you want all calls to be forwarded or choose Select phone number(s) and enter the phone numbers of callers whose calls you want to activate Call Notify. If you choose Select phone number(s), you also have the option to allow calls from private or unavailable numbers.

    Select Save when you are finished.

  5. Step 5:

    Changes should take effect immediately. Click OK to see a summary of your settings in the Call Notify section of the Phone Panel page.
