Troubleshoot and install the battery in your Comcast Business Voice modem

Introduction

Your Comcast Business Voice modem typically draws power from an external power source like an outlet. However, we provide battery backup for your Comcast Business Voice service so you can maintain service during a power outage.

The convenience of backup power

The back-up battery in Comcast Business Voice modems enables your phone service for up to 8 hours of battery life and 5 hours of talk time. If your modem does not have a battery, or if the battery is faulty, you won't have phone service during an outage.

We recommend having one battery in your modem. If your modem has two battery slots, you still only need one battery.

Check the status of your battery

• If the battery light is solid, your battery has charge.

• If the battery light is out, make sure the battery is properly connected.

• If the battery light is flashing, you may need to replace your battery.

Order a replacement battery

If your battery is not present, or if it has been depleted, please visit help.comcast.net/modem/battery/order so that we can send a battery to your company immediately. There is no additional charge for the replacement battery.

Note: Comcast Business Trunks and VoiceEdge hardware does not include battery backup.
