When you place your Comcast Business Voice order for multiple lines, you can add up to two Hunt Groups for no additional monthly charge.
When an incoming call reaches a busy line, the Hunt Group will automatically search for the next open line. Hunt Group will check each of your lines to find an open line. If no open lines are available and voicemail has been set up, the Hunt Group will forward the call to the voicemail of the original line. To set up or make changes to your Hunt Group, contact Comcast Business Support at 1-800-391-3000.
Note: A telephone number may only belong to one Hunt Group.
You can make any single line within a Hunt Group appear busy to the Hunt Group process. Incoming calls to a line where Terminal Make Busy has been activated are directed to the next available line or to voicemail.
Lift the handset of the phone line you need to make busy and listen for the dial tone.
The phone line will now appear busy and will not accept calls until Terminal Make Busy is deactivated.
Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
The phone line is returned to normal and will accept incoming calls.
You can make all lines in a Hunt Group appear busy. Incoming calls will be directed to voicemail. This feature is useful during company meetings or when your business is closed for the day.
