Introduction

After December 14, 2017, Comcast Business will no longer offer complimentary professionally recorded voice greetings from SNAP Recordings. Access to previously recorded greetings on the SNAP Recordings website will also be unavailable after that date.

This change does not affect the greetings you currently use with your Business VoiceEdge service. However, if you prefer to keep a copy of your previously recorded greetings with SNAP Recordings on file, it is important you download them from the SNAP Recordings website by 11:59 PM (EST) on December 14, 2017. These greetings will not be available after that date and time.

If you have complimentary, unused greetings available and would like to use them, you must place your order with SNAP Recordings at 1-866-721-7627 by December 14, 2017 to avoid being charged. If you do not need any additional greetings recorded, no action is required.

Professional Voice Greetings Services after December 14, 2017

After December 14, 2017, you may contact SNAP Recordings (or another third party professional voice recording company) directly if you are interested in purchasing professional voice recording services.

Prefer to record your own greetings? You can do so through the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal. Learn more at business.comcast.com/getstarted and reference the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Customer Responsibility: Automated Attendant handout.

Frequently asked questions

I currently utilize professional recordings for my Business VoiceEdge service, do I need to do anything?
No action is required if you use the same recordings for your business throughout the year. However, if you swap out recordings on a regular basis or need to obtain a copy of your recording, you will have to download the recordings from the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal by 11:59 PM on December 14, 2017 otherwise they will not be available after that date and time.

How do I download my greetings?
You can download the greetings directly through the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal until 11:59 PM (EST) on December 14, 2017 or you can contact SNAP Recordings at 1-844-762-7300 to have a copy of your greetings emailed to you.

Download professional greetings from the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal:

  1. Log into the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal with your Technical Admin account.

  2. Within the Automated Attendant page, click Professionally Record Greeting.

  3. On the SNAP Recordings page, download your recordings.

Once you download the greetings, you can upload them to the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal or use with your Comcast Business VoiceEdge service.

I was offered five complimentary professional greetings when I signed up for my service, how can I utilize them?
If you have complimentary, unused greetings available and would like to use them, you must place your order with SNAP Recordings at 1-844-762-7300 by December 14, 2017 to avoid being charged. If you do not need any additional greetings recorded, no action is required.

I thought complimentary greetings from SNAP Recordings were part of my contract, what happened?
Complimentary professional greeting recordings from a company called SNAP Recordings were provided to Business VoiceEdge customers, but were not part of your Comcast Business service and not part of your agreement with Comcast Business. If you prefer to record your own greetings, you can do so at any time through the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal, or if you would like to obtain professional recordings, there are many companies that offer this service for purchase. Externally recorded greetings can be uploaded through the Business VoiceEdge Portal as well.

Why are you ending your relationship with SNAP Recordings?
We have a relatively few number of customers who use professional recording services so we made a decision to discontinue the offer.

Can you recommend another professional recording company?
There are various companies who offer professional greetings but Comcast Business does not recommend a particular one.

I didn’t get to use my five free greetings, are you offering any kind of credit for unused recordings?
No. The professional recordings were complimentary, so we are not offering credits for unused recordings.

Is Comcast Business going to work with another professional recording company?
Comcast Business has no plans to offer professional recordings from any company at this time.

I missed the deadline to download my previously recorded greeting, how am I going to get them now?
Unfortunately, existing recordings had to be downloaded from the SNAP Recordings website prior to December 14, 2017 at 11:59 PM. Recordings already uploaded to your automated attendant will not be affected by this change. We cannot guarantee that the recordings will still be available, but you can contact SNAP Recordings at via 1-866-721-7627 or support@snaprecordings.com.

Can you record a professional greeting for me?
No, Comcast Business cannot record greetings on behalf of customers. However, there are multiple ways you can complete a recording yourself. Please refer to Manage your Automated Attendant settings for Business VoiceEdge to learn more.

I’m having problems with the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal and need help, who should I contact?
For questions about the Comcast Business VoiceEdge Portal or your account, please call us at 1-877-761-7401.

What happens if I don’t record a greeting for my Automated Attendant Greeting?
If you do not record or upload an audio file for your Automated Attendant greeting, the following greeting will play (whether or not any of the Automated Attendant menus are populated).
"Welcome, your call is being answered by an automated attendant.  If you know your party's extension, press 1.  To use our automated name directory, press 2.  If you would like to speak to an operator, press 0.  Thank you for calling."

Note: this message may not match the key selection you have set for your Automated Attendant.
