This article outlines the known issues and indicator lights that you may encounter while using the Panasonic TGP600 base unit.

Basic troubleshooting tips

1. Make sure that the device is plugged into a working outlet, receiving power and ready for use.

Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the base unit and the outlet.

Verify that the device is receiving power by checking the Status light on the front of the device.

2. Verify that the device is properly connected to a modem which has Internet access.

Ensure that the power cord is plugged into both the modem and the outlet.

Make sure that an Ethernet cable is securely connected between the modem and the base unit.

Understanding the base unit status indicator light

Status Indicator Light

Probable Cause

Flashing slowly, rapidly flashing or solid amber

An IP address may not have been acquired or the static IP address is not appropriate.

The base unit is not properly connected

There may be a problem with the base unit hardware

The unit's IP address may conflict with this IP address of other devices on your local network.

The base unit may be improperly provisioned.

Try This:

  • Follow the basic troubleshooting tips above.
  • Contact your Service Manager for additional support.


The base unit's system is busy or not connected.

Try This:

  • Wait until the status indicator is flashing or the indicator remains lit.

Flashing green rapidly

A handset registered to the base unit cannot make or receive calls.

Try This:

  • Move the handset within range of the base unit to re-establish a connection

Flashes quickly in the order of red > green > amber > off > red > green > amber > off

The base unit is being returned to its factory default settings.

Try This:

  • Wait until this process has finished.

Flashes slowly in the order of red > green > amber > off > red > green > amber > off

The base unit is in Maintenance mode.

Try This:

  • Disconnect the power cord on the device, wait 5 seconds, and plug it back in.
