Business WiFi Pro allows you to regulate the amount of bandwidth consumed by the Private WiFi and Guest WiFi networks. This regulation ensures only a set amount of bandwidth is allocated to the Guest WiFi network, reserving bandwidth for the Private WiFi network so the business WiFi operations do not suffer. Although bandwidth management affects the Private WiFi network, it is only applicable and configurable when a Guest WiFi network is enabled.
Note: Please be advised, any feature or configuration change will cause the WiFi Pro Access Point(s) to reboot. Both Private and Guest networks will go offline for 3 to 6 minutes as the change is applied.
Navigate to the WiFi Pro Portal. Once signed in to your account, you will see your existing networks.
Locate the network you want to configure and select Edit.
Select the Advanced tab.
Set Guest Bandwidth Limit to On.
The default limits are 5 Mbps for upload and 25 Mbps for download bandwidth. These values represent 50% of the allotted bandwidth for our minimum supported speed tier, Deluxe 50.
Select the dropdown for upload or download to open up the selectable speeds that can be allocated to the guest environment.
Selecting a value equal to or greater than your subscribed rate means you will compete for bandwidth on your Private WiFi network with your customers connecting to the Guest WiFi network.
