Tangle Creations Plays with Comcast Business and Wins
San Francisco toy company uses Ethernet and voice services to enhance customer service and business operations
LIVERMORE, Calif. – August 6, 2018 – Comcast Business today announced that Tangle Creations® is using Comcast Business Ethernet and Comcast Business VoiceEdge™ to enhance its business operations. The innovative toy manufacturer now has reliable Wi-Fi, high-performing Ethernet, secure access to the cloud and cloud-based voice services to more efficiently handle customer transactions, maintain and grow its business.
Based in San Francisco, Tangle Creations was founded nearly 40 years ago on the concept of “Creativity for All” by Richard X. Zawitz, an established sculptor whose work bridges Eastern philosophical practice and American culture, and contemporary and futuristic aesthetics. The company has specialized in the design and manufacturing of unique playthings for children and adults of all ages, led by its classic toy, the Tangle, in which users are drawn to the twistable energy and magical sensation found by the turning, curving motions it makes. Over time, the company has expanded and evolved to target several new niche markets including therapy, education, promotions and night sports games with the Tangle NightBall Collection.
Prior to working with Comcast Business, Tangle Creations had slow DSL speeds and an analog phone system which experienced performance issues. With a move to a new location, the company needed a consistent, reliable network and services to deliver and process orders with enough capacity to meet requirements of today and into the future.
“The craze of the fidget-friendly toy has been a boon to our business and required us to expand our headquarters while ensuring we had the right network solutions to make it as seamless as possible, and it was clear Comcast Business understood this,” said Nicholas Zawitz, executive vice president of Tangle Creations. “Given that our servers are web-based, if the internet goes down, we’re out of luck. We need to be able to send bandwidth-rich graphic files to our design studio and other locations on a whim via the cloud. Thanks to Comcast Business, we’re no longer worried about having the bandwidth to support our business needs, and can instead focus on what we do best – providing a creative toy line and empowering kids of all ages.”
Tangle Creations initially installed 150 Megabit-per-second (Mbps) Business Internet service to support and grow its business on a global scale, and now has upgraded to 100 Mbps of Ethernet to easily connect to its Hong Kong location and securely access cloud resources. The toy company is also using Comcast Business VoiceEdge, a cloud-based voice and unified communications (UC) solution to support its phone-based transactions.
“For independent companies like Tangle Creations, it’s important to be able to conduct business within the global economy,” said David Brown, vice president of Comcast Business for California. “Comcast’s robust network solutions are ideal for these businesses who rely on the price and efficiency benefits of the cloud to conduct transactions and interact with their customers, while also having the bandwidth and scalability to support their business requirements. These companies know they can rely on the Comcast Business network to not just meet, but exceed their expectations.”
