Comcast Business Helps Nick’s Roast Beef Help Others

Local restaurant chain relies on Comcast Business solutions to support online and phone orders during COVID-19

Ability to remain open allows Nicks Roast Beef to provide free meals to Philadelphia area residents

PHILADELPHIA, PA – July 20, 2020 – Comcast Business today announced that local eatery, Nick’s Roast Beef is utilizing Comcast Business’ internet and voice solutions to manage a sudden spike in delivery and takeout orders helping them as they remain open during the COVID-19 crisis and provide free meals to Philadelphia area residents.

Established neighborhood restaurant and popular Philly sports bar, Nick’s Roast Beef on Cottman Avenue and Woodhaven Road has been serving up good food since 1969.  When COVID-19 began forcing people to remain inside, they had to divert service to delivery and takeout only. Comcast Business provides them with reliable phone service and high-speed internet with enough bandwidth to support online and phone orders – the now sole lifeline of their business.

The ability to remain open for takeout and delivery has also afforded the restaurant the opportunity to provide free meals to local Philadelphia area residents and customers alike. Since April 16, Nick’s has given away more than 6,000 meals to help feed those in need.

“Without my internet and phone services from Comcast Business, I wouldn’t be able to take orders through our website, mobile phone ordering apps or by phone, which has been our lifeline during this crisis,” said Matt Rossi, owner of Nick’s Roast Beef.  “If it wasn’t for my ability to serve customers by takeout or delivery, I wouldn’t be able to stay open let alone support these food donations.”

Nick’s Roast Beef has been a Comcast Business customer since 2018 and is currently using the company’s Business Internet, VoiceEdge voice over IP (VoIP) phone service and Business TV.

“At Comcast Business we understand the critical importance of providing fast, reliable internet and phone service to help keep restaurants like Nick’s Roast Beef running smoothly,” said Michael Louden, Vice President of Business Services for Comcast’s Freedom Region. “We’re extremely proud of the work Nick’s is doing to help feed our local community and are happy to be the service provider that helps their business to remain viable.”
