Check the web if you’re looking for help in building job descriptions, finding candidates, assessing their viability, skills testing, benchmarking salaries, and more. Here are just a few examples of what you can find:

  • Job description templates. Monster.com offers a bank of hundreds of job description templates.
  • Recruiting strategies. Consider those outlined in 6 Ways to Recruit Superstar Talent to Your New Company.
  • Salary stats. The salary index maintained by Glassdoor, which it says “has the world’s most complete data on real employees’ salaries.”
  • Skills testing. This is the most straightforward type of test: a check of whether applicants can complete the work they’re being hired to do. TestUP offers more than 200 aptitude tests.
  • Situational Judgment Tests. These multiple-choice tests provide options for responses to situations that can arise in the workplace. The answers chosen may offer clues to the test-taker’s numerical, verbal, and situational reasoning abilities.
